Solar PV Module

DC Protection Box

A DC protection box, also known as a solar combiner box or PV combiner box, combines and protects the direct current (DC) electricity from multiple strings of solar panels before it is sent to the inverter. It contains fuses for overcurrent protection, surge protection devices (SPDs) to safeguard against lightning strikes.

Solar Inverter

A Solar Inverter is a crucial device that converts the direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar panels into usable alternating current (AC) electricity that can power homes, businesses, and the main electrical grid. The DC power from panels isn’t compatible with most appliances, so the inverter acts as a “currency exchange” to make the electricity usable.

Backup Battery

A backup battery in a solar power plant stores excess electricity generated by solar panels for later use when the sun isn’t shining, like at night or during power outages. It acts as a personal energy reserve, providing power during grid-downs, supporting energy independence, and potentially reducing energy costs during peak demand.

AC Distribution box

An AC distribution box (ACDB) in a solar power plant is a central device that manages and distributes the AC power produced by inverters. It consolidates the AC power from the inverter, providing essential safety features like Miniature/Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCBs/MCCBs) and Surge Protection Devices (SPDs) to protect equipment from overvoltage and short circuits. The ACDB also connects the solar system to the local grid enabling proper monitoring and control of the generated power.
